Kinja'd!!!

See my little red Mazda back there? Precisely. I park in that spot so that I can easily pull away in the morning. And then this twit decides to box me in. Hey, dumbass, there’s a big silver and blue reason why I park where I park!

Trust me, I wanted to. But the fines around here don’t do to much to discourage people from stupidity. A couple of years ago the fine for parking on street sweeping day was $10, then they bumped it to $15. That’s lunch money.

In Los Angeles, over ten years ago, it was closer to $60. I’m still pissed about one ticket I got for parking after it was obvious and clear that the street sweeper had already been by, but before noon. It should have been OK since I wasn’t going to block the street sweeper, but noooo. Out there they enforce the letter of the law, not the spirit of it. Stupid and expensive.

I’d be tempted to start a small fire nearby just to watch the FD plow and/or destroy his ride to get access.

Yeah! With a copy of the law against parking in front of a fire hydrant, and that picture of the BMW with the fire hose through the window. Yeah!

Yeah yeah! Wait for snow... then make a snow penis on his hood!

He probably won’t be parked there for that long though...

Buy snow... make snow penis on his hood....

I’d still do it. For the feels. Just to stick it to him on the off chance that, as a law-breaker, he/she wouldn’t pay, and then there’d be a warrant for his/her arrest, and you could feel like you’ve won.

In Chicago, street sweeping tickets are $60. A real day-ruiner when both your cars are parked on the same side of the street.

Do they normally paint the curbs yellow in front of hydrants in your parts? That used to be common around here, but sadly they don’t keep up with it.

Also, I’ve read that yellow curbs legally mean nothing in some states/counties, just a guideline for distances from Stop signs, etc.

I haven’t seen painted curbs in front of hydrants out here. I think that you should be aware of your surroundings, and consider the possibility that if a parking space seems too good to be true it probably is...

Agree 100%.....I was just curious. The paint doesn’t seem to help much anyway...the school next to me has 50 yards of freshly painted yellow curb, but there are 12 teachers parked there every day anyway.

I always question why a spot on a busy street is open. There’s usually a reason.
