Two big automotive things happened this weekend. First of all, I swapped the wheels back to the factory ones on my Golf over the weekend. Not sure if I will put the heritage wheels back on in the spring or if I will sell them and try something else.

The other big thing, the 1964 Dodge Polara made its first movements under its own power ! Needs some more things before it hits the road. Rear drivers side wheel cylinder is leaking brake fluid and the interior, trim, and top needs to be done. But mechanically its getting there!

What did the rest of oppo do over the weekend ?

I finally replaced the maf sensor in my clownshoe. Excited to see whether I get increased fuel efficiency. Bench tested the old one and it was completely dead so I’m glad I replaced it. Now I just need to find out what the weird clunk I keep hearing in first and second gear is....

Replaced the cap and rotor on the 350 in my El Camino. It was way past due. I also did some fine tuning and added some timing. It is running really well, but has a vacuum leak at the throttle shaft which makes for a slightly erratic idle. It’s not really a problem, it just annoys me. But the power is finally where it should be and it sounds terrific.

I also took my boat out and caught a nice 30 pound catfish and some cool sunlight coming under the Memorial Bridge in DC.
