Broken Motorsports in New Jersey is raffling off their 2000 Impreza RS rally car. It’s an Open Light class car (AWD no turbo) built in 2015 and has finished every event with no major crashes (mostly because it’s been a rental and all the drivers have been new/cautious). I actually just drove the car to the Jalopnik Auto Show last week and it’s a good build. The car feels light, nimble, and responsive and the brakes are brutally effective. This may not be a power car but damn is it ever a handling car, if you know how to use weight transfer you can huck it around corners like nobody’s business.

Tickets are $100 each, but Broken is only selling 250 tickets so odds are good (for a raffle). The drawing will be January 13.

It could probably run in prepared class, but I assume whoever wins it will be more interested in entering it in actual rallies

I stored a friend’s set of Braids for a year. The number of times they almost “mysteriously disappeared” can’t be counted

I’ve been considering a set for my car but it is a bit overkill for a DD. Also, I need cooler friends who have braid wheels.

I’m seriously tempted to buy a ticket, but I think I would end up broke and homeless trying to play with both my road race car and a rally car. I’m quite sure I can’t afford two hits on the racing crack pipe, but that car does appear to have side windows, so it would probably be better to sleep in during inclement weather than my race car.
