Nothing makes me feel worse than seeing this stuff. I can’t watch those Tavarish and other guys on Youtube who buy cars like this and talk through them. Just fills me with rage. The crap people spend their time and money on, jesus.

I mean at least this is done well. Though I’d like to see the paint in 5 years. But Tav’s MR2 was just destroyed!

I don’t even think 12 year old me would’ve liked this. I mean, things like the air vents are supposed to be relatively discreet. Idk why’d you want to paint them red.

Plus it’s not really an accent anymore when it’s 80% of the interior.

Literally laughed out loud when I saw this.

Now I will admit that the interior of the Mazda5 is kind of a somber place, but at least it’s tastefully somber. This is a complete and total overreaction. I assume that it was the previous owner that buggered it up like this and not the dealer. I also assume that this really knocked down the trade-in value by more than the price of the parts. I’m surprised that they didn’t do something to tone it down, even if it was a half-assed application of paint to keep the retina searage to a minimum.

Surprisingly the exterior is pretty much stock, with seemingly the only modification being painted calipers, red of course...

I’ve done some mods to the interior of my Mazda5, but they’re limited to tasteful things like leather steering wheel, handbrake handle and shift knob, as well as a fancy mirror and some extra switches. But my stuff all involves OEM Mazda parts and looks like it came from the factory that way.

And I’m very well OK with that kind of thing. I can even handle some small, tasteful aftermarket modifications, so long as they’re not screaming at you “I’m a 16 year old boy!”

Restraint in color and application could have resulted in something I would like. But this is bad.

I will admit, once I have a can of spray paint in my hands, I start looking around and thinking “what else can I paint?” Obviously this guy had a similar moment, and then a seizure, and woke up with an empty can of paint and a headache.

Imagine how bad it looks with all those red interior lights come on. That’s the main reason I didn’t like the mid 2000s 3 just way too much red. And I’m guessing the 5 has the same deal

No red interior lights on this generation of 5 (I have a 2012 6MT Sport model), other than one little one by the ignition switch.
