Fiber optic into my house. cat.7 to a nice new Archer c5400 router that probably is more than I needed. Cat.7 to my desktop. Running speedtest.net aaaaannnnnd i’m not sure what to think.
Locally DL:650 UL:540, Seoul Korea is 125 down and 495 up. I’m sure the neighborhood distro box is far away but true gig internet, well, my brother-in-law has it in his neighborhood 2 miles away. I can’t complain too much cause of lifetimepromotionalpricingplus a kickback from my wife’s work to pay for most of it. But I do want the gig. I’ll play around a bit.

Are you sure it’s not “up to” a gig? ISPs are run by the devil, so that’s probably the issue.

Unless your cable runs are over 150ft cat6 would do 10gb/s even after that if would do 1gb/s. So will cat5e.
