Honestly, I’m team don’t block the road. Putting on your hazards does not automatically create an ok place to park, even if loading/unloading. The woman was a bit impatient (and I don’t approve of knocking down the post), but if you are going to be a block the road, at the very least be apologetic about it. Maybe even move your BMW so the truck has room to park without blocking the middle of the road. Certainly don’t set a trap for the woman you’ve already inconvenienced when she comes back, by intentionally blocking the road. BMW driver is an ass of the highest order.

“lalala”?

okay. leave the car there. you have it on video if she hits it. shes at fault, no 2 ways about it. OR if she runs, hit and run, simple as that.

I feel bad for places where the road is not wide enough to accommodate stuff like this. I’m used to the road ALWAYS being wide enough for people to squeeze around, even if somebody’s broken down without a shoulder to move to. The few times where I do encounter too-narrow roads, it’s either a one-way street, or an alleyway that’s not supposed to even have much traffic on it.

I really can’t blame the delivery driver for doing his job, or the woman for wanting the road to be clear at all times (I can blame her for her attitude, though). If anyone’s to blame for this situation, I guess I’d place that burden on the road designers.

In France it’s the same thing... the way the roads and houses are built, there are no choices for this kind of stuff. As for where the BMW is parked it doesn’t really matter as they just have to be as close to the tank as possible... Truck driver moved his truck to park it on the BMW’s spot as soon as he was done. If that woman cannot deal with his neighbor filling up once every winter, maybe she should stay in a city? He also did mention that he parked that way so that she would stop to talk... And there was still plenty of space to pass if she didn’t want to stop...

Nissan Rogue drivers are 100% the worst drivers and people ever. I sat in traffic one night with a Nissan Rogue who had high beams on blinding me the entire time she was behind me(easily 10 minutes). I turned on my hazards and slowed to a crawl(mostly because I was blind from my rear view that has dimming) but I also then got behind her and started flashing my high beams. Still didn’t faze the idiot. I’ve have been blinded buy no less then 5 rogue drivers since them. I hate them all.

I mean maybe standards are different in Wales (and France for that matter), or as you say a city/country thing, but my feeling is that if someone is waiting on you and you are going to be more than a few minutes, you need to move (or just come with a smaller delivery vehicle in the first place).

Regardless, parking in the middle of the road like that when she came back was needlessly aggressive and confrontational, especially since he is the one who inconvenienced her in the first place. You say there was enough room, but he was right in the middle, so it was still tight, and regardless I don’t blame her for not trusting him given his erratic behavior. Obviously she had been acting a bit nuts before, but there was zero need for him to block her. The only talk they needed to be having was him apologizing for his oil delivery blocking the road.

I’m with others saying his method of confronting her is poor. Not just generally but with a mother late for picking up kids? Bad call. I mean her behavior was poor, but you have to understand a mother having a rough day with the kids before you can judge her to harshly

These roads weren’t designed, in a lot of cases they have been there for a few hundred years. To widen them would be an astronomical expense- there’s around 125,000 miles of minor rural roads, though most are wider than this. You’d also have to remove a lot of hedgerows which is a big no.

You either wait, or if there’s the option take a different route.

Yeah, that’s why I feel sad about it, rather than outraged. This is something that people are just going to have to accept, and it’s going to be that way for a long time.
