For almost 40k, would you buy this low mileage example with a DCT or would you find one with more miles where you could row your own?

Also I found that dealership and am baffled as to why a random dealer on Lawn Guyland has so many low mileage old Jeeps.

Dude. My dad had one of those. Looked just like this one, but he decided he didn’t need an Mk4 GTI, Grand Cherokee, Mazda Tribute and my mom’s VW beetle at the same time, and sold the GC and bought a Ford Windstar (Had it for 3 months and ran screaming).

That’s fair enough, although I think the RS4 was manual only. RS5, on the other hand, is auto only.

The RS4 was manual only. I was thinking RS5 sorry. Too many airplanes not enough sleep etc etc. FWIW if we go down in power a little I think the B8 S4 is a truly under appreciated car. I’ve driven one and the supercharged motor is fantastic.

Oh their reliability is bad. Probably the worst of the Germans. But I think once you’re into a high/end German Sport sedan reliability becomes a relative thing. Any of them could gift you a $5k+ repair at any time. The S4 I drove was a CPO bought by one of my clients. He had been driving an old Caravan and Altima for years saving for his son to go to college and once he finally had it all put away he decided to get a nice car. Then 6 months in he got hit with “surprise you’ve worn out the tires and that’s gonna be $1500.” He’s now on the fence about owning it past the warranty. I was like welcome to the world of used German car ownership. (I also let him know there were plenty of decent tires in his size for more like $200 a corner on sale at TireRack.)

Interesting find with a highly optimistic price tag. Clean, but pretty basic on the options list. I would say it is a 30K car, not almost 40K.
