Now that everything is back together I need to do some Data Logging today on the tune to make sure it’s good to go. Couldn’t find any OTS tunes so had to put one together myself. So far it runs and doesn’t complain but I need to datalog to make sure it’s safe. Also going down to Sea Level this week (San Diego) so I’ll get a chance to dial in my sea level tune.

Neat. Suspension work can really bring out some fun in Outbacks. They’re so squishy and vague from the factory. Are the brakes an off the shelf item? I never heard of anyone using Willwoods. Any reason you didn’t go with the 4-pots from a WRX?

Those Wilwoods are sexy.

I got the brackets and lines from Brakeswap.com, calipers, and pad from Summit Racing. http://brakeswap.rpmware.com/brakeswap/subaru-lgt/outback-wilwood-hardware-kit/g-69054.aspx

They are a bit lighter (2.5lbs lighter each) than the Subaru ones, each caliper is $170, and performance brake pads are only $60.....and they say Wilwood.

That said I think I’m going to do Subaru WRX 2 pots on the back...unless I can find a bracket for wilwoods .

Yeah, the factory suspension on these is just too soft.

That’s a neat swap. I was going to ask about what rotor but saw it’s the OE LGT part. I agree with you on it saying Wilwood. Brembos are cool and all but Wilwoods always say “custom” setup to me.

Good to know! I just did a catless up/CNT catted downpipe/3" catback and stage 2 tune on my XT and now the brakes feel like they are really working to reign in the power. I was just wondering what upgrade options are out there...

I like the Wilwood’s so far. Trying to dial in my stage 2 tune now but can’t get my laptop to Datalog, which is always fun.
