4 day weekend for Jake since I just had some wisdom teeth out. Post XJSes to entertain me. This one is a manual-swapped V12 car painted GM Burnt Orange from a C6 and BMW wheels that offer far superior performance tire options than the SUV tire sizes the stock 15-inch wheels require. The best part? Dude only paid $1400 for it and did all the bodywork himself. I am impressed.

I hate that car so much. Yeah just take the brilliantly designed IRS out of the jag and make it yet another stupid tubbed drag car.
Living in Kansas has me a bit overloaded with this sort of thing, lol. Especially with Foxbody mustangs. I’d love, just once, to go to a car show and see a foxbody that can do something other than drive straight.

They’re floppy rattletrap pieces of shit but they can be set up fairly decently. I liked my four-eyed notchback simply because it is the absolute last bodystyle people think of when “Mustang” is mentioned.

Yeah, not likely. 100hp 3.8 liter TBI V6 going through a swapped-in world class T5 and an open diff. It didn’t go anywhere in a hurry or particularly comfortably or economically but I had less than $600 into it and it was kinda fun to toss around. Sold it for $1200 and bought my $1100 Honda CX500 motorcycle once I could no longer push the clutch on the Mustang due to knee issues.

I still really damn want one of these. When the Spitfire’s done and stopped hoovering up every bit of spare change I can rub together I’ll start saving up for something new. XJS, Alfetta, SWB Biturbo, SD1 etc.
As ever I’ve got a bit of a plan with the Jaaag.
Spray it a deep BRG (unless it’s already a kickass colour like Kingfisher or something). Blow a lot of money on some of those Torque Thrusts you get on a lot of muscle cars (bit exotic over here). Grey spokes, not the usual chrome-fest.
I think you can get Fibreglass bonnets and wings and things. Aim would be to bring it down to about 1500kg.
Then, build the ol’ AJ6 with the forged crank from an AJ16 and low-compression pistons from the supercharged XJR and see just how much boost the venerable old six can take :) bottom end was built for a potential diesel application so it’s massively overbuilt.

I had to have a molar pulled this week. I understand 1/4th of your pain.
Except there is no such color as Burnt Orange for a C6. It’s either Daytona Sunset orange, or Atomic Orange. That looks like Atomic Orange. Though, later in life they did offer Inferno Orange from the Camaro.
I am on heavy painkillers and super serious about Corvette Colors.

Yeah I actually just did the ones on the left because I had two deeply impacted wisdom teeth that were sideways and in danger of resorpring some piece of my jaw, I think, and I had a molar that had kind of shattered into a few pieces and needed to come out. Later I get to have a root canal on a molar that is resorping itself, a filling on one of my front teeth that has a nasty hole in it, and the other wisdom teeth pulled.
Oddly, I’m not on any real painkillers right now. Just ibuprofein and working from home.

The AJ6 is a damned stout motor. My ideal XJ-S would be one of the facelifted 1992-1996 coupes with the 6 cylinder and a supercharger. In either blue or BRG.

Ugh. I had a weird situation. I had a filling in the molar, but it had come up a bit, and at some point the tooth cracked under the filling. So it got majorly infected, but it didn’t swell up or hurt much because of the crack letting it drain. So something got in there, the infection went crazy, and I went in for the emergency removal. Now I’m on anti-biotics and vicodin to stay upright. Ugh.

Pretty damn close to what I want there :) I’d prefer to go for one of the earlier ones (so that it’s exempt from emissions regs over here). Luckily we got the 6-cyl a fair bit earlier than you guys did so I’ve got a much broader pool to look for.
A supercharger would certainly be simpler given that there was a factory setup, but I’m intrigued as to how well they’d take to a honking great turbo ;)
