Just passed my motorcycle permit test. Wooo! Minimal accomplishment!

Pennsylvania has a free rider training course that is 15 hours that I plan to take full advantage of. after that, the cheapest mechanically functional bike I can get off craigslist so I don’t feel bad trashing it. Run it till I get bored, crash it, or it pukes, then get a bike I really want. I am between the new husqvarna vitpilen and the moto guzzi v7 racer. So nothing crazy performance wise.

Congrats! Nice picks for bikes as well!

On a side note, look into getting a ninja 250 or 300. A good one will run you 3k, but they hold their resale value pretty well. You could sell it in a year for probably close to what you paid [edit: plus ABS which comes in handy]

I did the buy the cheapest option, and I lost 1000 dollars because I ran it into the ground and wasn’t worth anything

Good job! I had to take mine twice and was incredibly nervous each time (Utah is tiered by engine CC).

Wait - Permit test as in written or the actual riding test?

Written. It’s not the license test, which is riding.

Looking for a bike like my neighbor’s friend. He found a 4 cylinder Kawasaki that somebody dropped, paid like 750 for it because it didnt have any fairings. Bike still ran super. Looking at getting a crappy 250, not a nice one.

Congrats man ! I would go for the 701 Svitpilen for a lot more fun factor.

Congrats, enjoy the newfound freedom.

PA’s MSF course is pretty good from my experience, defintely recommended.

Have fun ride safe.

That’s a little more bike than I really feel comfortable with.

Congrats! There’s nothing like the feeling of riding. Fast car’s come close, but fast bikes are on another level. And even riding slow feels amazing.

Tiered by CC makes a ton of sense. I got a R6 for my first bike, learned to ride a bit then took the MSF course and test. Still have the R6, so no complaints there, but I see a reason to have different tests for CC’s.
