What are your auto sites?

The formatting of autoblog drives me nuts, Jalopnik barely covers the industry and is content with snarkily reposting YouTube vids, I haven’t been to hooniverse in a few years but it always seemed a little too boutique....so.....

What are your go-to sites, and what’s your preferred method (flipbook, rss, actual website, etc)?

To get the news that will be listed on Jalopnik and other sites later in the day or week, I go here:

http://www.autonews.com/

And for some editorial content:

I read Autonews for actual auto news, the it is a subscription service. I still get the motor trend and car and driver for reviews. I typically just go to carscoops for info on new vehicles. I’m glad I’m not the only one who can’t stand Autoblog. Their layout is trash.

Oppo. Sometimes TTAC. Rarely Hooniverse.

Daily direct visit: Jalopnik, here, TDIClub, PriusChat, Reddit (including /r/WEC, /r/FormulaE, /r/super_gt, /r/electricvehicles, /r/justrolledintotheshop)

Occasional direct visit: The Truth About Cars

RSS: e-racing365, Hooniverse, Green Car Congress, New Atlas (gadget blog with automotive and environmental bents), TreeHugger (environmental blog with some automotive content), CleanTechnica (ditto)

Podcasts/YouTube channels: Midweek Motorsport, What Drives Us (although they haven’t been posting to their RSS feed for months, so I’ve been watching them on YouTube when I remember to), DFL, Fully Charged

IRC: irc.snoonet.org #wec, #formula-e, irc.tdicommunity.com #tdiclub (which is really a bunch of friends that at one time (which may be the current time, or may not be) owned a TDI), #ev (those of us in #tdiclub interested in electrified and electric vehicles, to stop annoying people in #tdiclub)

Social media: I’m not using Twitter any more, but I have a lot of accounts that are followed on there. On the Fediverse (via Mastodon), I’m just following a mirror of the @FIAWEC (@FIAWEC@mastd.racing) and @FIAformulaE (@FormulaE@mastd.racing) Twitter accounts. @specutainment and @radiolemans would be good follows to start out with if you’re into endurance racing, though. (I also need to add more to my RSS to get some content I’m missing from not using Twitter.)

http://www.carscoops.com Is good at having an article for every new car immediately.

https://www.motor1.com for reviews. Bonus, I know a writer that works here that used to work at autoblog.

Jalopnik FP, maybe every third blue moon, a little too hipster and sometimes a shill site for certain brands.

TTAC weekly, mostly for Murilee Martin’s weekly article (which is what originally brought me to Jalopnik). Carscoops/Autonews/Autoextremist can be handy.

Various MB forums when needed.

Truly blog/website wise, I’m mostly only on Jalopnik/Oppo. Once in a while I’ll read build threads on some of the large message boards, those are always fun.

Other than that it’s mostly Youtube, MCM, Hoovies, Roadkill, HRG, and the occasional RCR or Demuro video.

In addition to the TTAC junkyard finds, Murilee posts a lot to Autoweek - junkyard treasures, reviews, and odd old ads.

I’m on Oppo, LaLD , and Curbside Classic every day.

Every couple days, I look at Autoweek’s classic car coverage, the Hemmings blog , Murilee’s posts over at Autoweek, and Japanese Nostalgic Car .

Occasionally, I check out the articles at Hagerty , Ate Up With Motor , and sometimes some channels on Youtube.

I used to read Hooniverse and Murilee’s posts at TTAC (junkyard finds), but I seem to have slowed/stopped those.

Nice. The junkyard stuff and down on the street type material is the best.
