So I’ll share some interesting things found at work today
Any baseball fans? Ray Washburn—Cardinals pitcher—is a repeat customer, and a really interesting guy. I have to plan in an extra hour when I go out this way because without fail he’ll talk my ear off about absolutely everything!
Next up! House two. Yep, that’s a tardis. And behind it is an elevator. The homeowners (mid 40's, healthy) decided to install said elevator not because they needed it for medical reasons, but because they love their home so much they want to be able to stay for the rest of their lives.
The clock is also theirs. Neat!
This chair was made by a local craftsman, and the current owner acquired it by trading the rights to a musical composition! Or he was pulling my leg and it was purchased at World Market. Who knows! It’s awesome either way. I sat in it by the owners request.... Very nice. Much comfort. Powerful.
Lastly, this fridge is everything I could ever want. Being able to see all my food options without opening the door would be a game changer. Plus, unlike LG/Samsung/etc. With their smart refrigerator/tablet gobbledygook, this beauty can’t be hacked. Oh, and did I mention the wine section has individual temperature controls for every single row? Crazy

Those roof window deck transformers are cool. I’ve always wanted to build a serious tree house on some land and put a couple of those in the roof.

Seen the video of some guy opening his up and the upper part falling down hitting his head?
Btw I was involved in building a 3 storie tree house recently. With solar panels for electricity and everything. Pretty neat.

I do. That’s what keeps me coming back! Best part of the elevator is that they had their son do the door, which was spotted by a painter a few weeks later. The painter asked about the Tardis cover, and long story short, the son got a job with a painting company that specializes in murals.

Not a constant checker, but the quality of fridge (and kitchen in general) is a big point for me. We’ve seen these awesome houses with tiny or poorly set-up kitchens that I’ve walked away from on that alone

Next time you work for Ray. You can’t tell him Carter Carburetor that was down the street from Sportsman Park/ Busch Stadium on Grand was tire down the last couple of years.
If you want him to talk about baseball, ask him how it was to be the first pitcher for both Busch Stadium, and Reds’ Riverfront Stadium.
He is from Pasco if he didn’t tell you that already.
Most times it’s interesting to listen to old guys talk and tell stories. Other times you want them to STFU and let you do your job so you can go home.

I got one for free a few years ago, and a good size one at that. It had a fan that would occasionally emit a screech loud enough to wake the dead; I’m a very heavy sleeper and one night this thing made such a noise that woke me up instantly, heart pounding through my chest. I grabbed a fan meant to cool a network equipment rack at a local electronics parts shop and it’s been working great for several years now. The new fan is a little louder than stock, but it is a nice mechanical sound and doesn’t have that horrendous screech because, well, it’s not a cheap Chinese piece of shit.
I don’t think I’ve ever had a bottle of wine in it, however. I mostly drink reds, so no refrigeration necessary for those. I have used it as a secondary refrigerator, and it came in quite handy when my main fridge died.
