In a statement released Wednesday, the NPR member station says it learned of the allegations in October and has retained an outside law firm to investigate them. That investigation is ongoing.
Shouldn’t they wait until the investigation is over to fire him? Or has he admitted to the allegations?

It’s starting to feel never-ending. But I hope they find everyone of these bastards that legitimately deserve to be caught.
I really do hope these are all legitimate cases. Where something happened that you can’t just brush off. I would hate to start seeing people being dragged through the mud for fairly innocent events.
I think so far though, it’s all been well deserved. There’s some seriously sick people that for some reason seem to enjoy this type of shit. I don’t get it! Why is it fun to make unwanted advances?

My wife and I had a conversation about this this morning, when we heard about Matt Lauer. There are serial harassers and there are people who flirt or hit on somebody, are told no, and then never do it again. I suppose there is some middle ground, too. Keillor made a comment years ago about a similar situation and said that it will soon be impossible to flirt. Which is true, to a point, but when does flirting turn into harassment? What’s to keep an office dalliance between two consenting adults from becoming harassment twenty years later? The immediate response now is to fire somebody before the facts are in, or to try to discredit the accuser (which is horrible, just look at the Roy Moore shenanigans). I hope the US figures this out quickly.
As for unwanted advances, I think lots of guys (and some women?) make brazen advances just to see if they will get lucky. I think those people have been watching to much porn, where a suggestive comment leads to instant banging. As I cautioned my son on his first discovery of porn, that is a fantasy world. The real world is nothing like that. If you want to have sex with somebody, be a gentleman. Take them out for coffee or lunch. See if you like each other. If the feeling is mutual, it will happen eventually.

So much this! This has almost always been my approach for if I want sex with someone, haha.

That’s very hard to say! I imagine that before the dalliance occurs there needs to be clear consent, especially in cases where a superior is involved.
