Kinja'd!!!

It was good and held up surprisingly well even after 30+ years.

Also that computer should really learn jungle and urban warfare too, among other games.

It’s a really good film. I haven’t seen it for a while though.

As a young boy back in the 80s, I watched that movie back in old USSR. My dad and I watched it one evening. Mom walked in... stood there for a while... Then got all worried and asked both of us if this was a real... if we were watching some news program.

Good movie

Even thought the representation of the LCC in the opening scene still triggers me to this day, it’s still a great movie.

Not sure what is intriguing about old USSR... there aren’t any new ones.

I mean...what was it like back then?

Sorry if I’m too forward.

oh... nah. It’s all good. KGB can’t reach me anymore.

It was a strange little world. Everything seemed wonderful. Everyone had a part to play and they played it. I was a young boy so my part was to go to school and from time to time help out the town... gather crops, or clean the town or whatever.

Today, I think back on it.. who paid for all the school kids to go and pick up metal for recycling around town? Who needed this metal... where did it go? Who paid for crop gathering? Whose crops were they? Where did they go? I have no idea but we did it... and parents pat the kids on the back and people around the town pat us on our backs so as kids we were happy to do more... but... why we did it - I don’t know.

Things were simpler back then and the world was smaller. We didn’t see what the west was doing past the wall in berlin. We knew our side and that was good enough. Everyone had same table and same chandelier. There wasn’t envy that Joe Shmoe down the street had a maybach and I had a pinto. Everyone who could afford a car had a pinto with maybach sticker on it.

Maybe this along with Threads, The Day After, and Testament, should be required viewing for all politicos.

The only winning move is not to play.

Much of it set in Seattle, yet quite little of it filmed there.
