I find it interesting that both VW and Subaru — both 2% market share companies with fairly rabid fan bases — are just NOW offering three row crossovers. I’ll take this over an Atlas all day, I just wish they’d offer an H6 engine with around 300hp

Fb24 (I think?) is the engine w/turbo and that sounds awesome.

I thought VW would be higher, but you’re right they are right at 2% for 2017 (as of October). However Subaru is apparently at 3.7% for the year. VW gets 1.6% of that from cars and 0.4% from light trucks while Subaru is 2.1% from cars and 1.6% from light trucks. Given that light trucks are 62.5% of the market, they both seem to be at a disadvantage there.

This reminds me of the Venza or a even softer highlander...not sure if that’s a good thing.

I knew Subie was on a sales tear recently, but IIRC their total share of cars on the road is still much lower than the 2017 sales would lead you to believe (and they’re very geographically concentrated in certain areas).

Also don’t forget that Subaru has long been one of the beneficiaries of that Light Truck designation, which I think still includes the Outback, Forester, and most of their bread and butter cars.
