As I have done in the past four years, I spent the first weekend of November out at Portland International Raceway shooting for Audi Club Northwest’s Quattrofest event. While it was wasn’t quite a rainy as the last few years, it was a little bit nippier in the morning.

I had a pair of D500s and a D800E for camera bodies and a set of lenses: 24-70mm VR, 70-200mm f/2.8 VR II, 300mm f/4 PF and a 50-100mm f/1.8. Only the 70-200mm is my own and I rented the others. I fell in love with the 300mm f/4 PF and will no longer rent the 50-100mm f/1.8 in the future. I’ve rented it a few times, but the foot is in the worst position and definitely isn’t useful for sports.

And, instead of getting a loaner vehicle to be a photog support vehicle, I used my own #araroad (Ara Blue allroad)

Below are some of the photos that I like the most from the bunch. The full album is on Flickr , if you’d like to see some more.

Gotta say, my favorite is that blue on your Allroad! Nicely chosen!

Thanks! I went special order because I needed something vibrant and stands out like the Sprint Blue S5 that I had.

Also good! Nogaro is my personal fav, would love a A/S6 in that. How much does Audi Exclusive paint run, BTW?

I absolutely love Nogaro and it was on my consideration list for the allroad. I think it looks phenomenal on an Avant, allroad or Sportback. What it came down to was seeing Ara Blue in the bright sunlight and I was sold.

I can’t remember if it’s true for all models, but it’s $3,900 for a pre-approved Audi exclusive color. I don’t remember what it costs if you want a paint to match option, but I think it’s closer to the same price as an Audi exclusive matte paint option, which is $6,000.

I basically knew that I would be going exclusive paint back when I was looking at ordering an allroad. I was debating an S5 Sportback if budget allowed, but it wouldn’t have been an exclusive order. So, when I ordered the allroad, the Audi Club discount, 6% off MSRP, was almost enough to cover the exclusive paint option.

Can that 6% off MSRP be combined with whatever other discount you manage to haggle? If so, that’s tons better than the BMW Club’s 2% off whatever deal you get...

I know that it can be used in combination with loyalty discounts or other Audi Financial Services promotions; but, I don’t think it’s available when combined with supplier or partner discounts. That said, Audi likes to change what is and isn’t allowed to be combined with larger discounts every once in a while.

That’s still pretty good! Wonder if the 6% applies in Canada...nothing on the club’s site seems to imply that it doesn’t hehe

Heh... Audi Canada is a whole other ball of wax. The only thing I can say is to contact the club office or your local dealer. At least in the US, I don’t there are a that many dealers that do not participate in the club discount.

Thanks for all the info! One more question: do Audi Exclusive options (like the paint) also have an invoice price?

Sorry for the delay, been traveling the last few days. I don’t recall seeing an invoice price for Audi exclusive options. I think it’s more of a customization fee that you’re paying for. That said, you can probably negotiate on the rest of the order to help lessen the cost overall.
