Integra Type R’s selling for absurd amounts of money. I would think 20k tops for a pristine one. Side note: this graph on BAT is awesome! Just search a car they have sold and it will come up with one. Link:

It’s because every tale of type R ownership ends with “...until it was stolen”.
So people don’t drive these anymore. They’re becoming collector’s only.items, kept under heavy duty lock and key.

20k for a well-loved, fairly high mileage one more like. I’ve seen garage queens going for double that

Well now, that just makes too much sense. Out of here with your reasoning!

You’re right. The actual reason is VTEC is kicking in on Type R values :P

I haven’t been looking at them but it just kind of blew me away how much they are going for. I would definitely take one over a new civic type r though

Nothing with that says Acura should cost $40k.
*excluding NSX

Agreed, although I don’t think I could spend that much on either. One of these days I hope to try a hot fwd vehicle from the 90's. Guess it depends on if any of them stay reasonably priced

The NSX should be cheaper*

I’ve been telling a few wealthy car lovers to buy these and other peak Japan models for years, I’m wondering how long before they finally listen....
