Look, I am not the most experienced rider, but I know that when riding I should be able to plant my foot on the ground, just for stability, if this guy is barely able to put his foot on the ground, imagine trying to unmount the bike, or at a stoplight or off roading. Its a heavy 200kg bike, How can he safely and maneuver it?

Come on! I’m not crazy tall (188cm) but If I sat in a harley it’d by like sitting on a sofa: knees all the way up!
I’m not saying this guy shouldn’t have such a tall motorcycle, I’m saying he should buy the short seat so that he’s safe as he rides! Its not a bicycle where you can lean it almost halfway down when you stop, its a heavy bike!

I dunno. I had a ‘75 CB750 that I couldn’t flat foot and it never felt unsafe or difficult to get on or off. That looks fine to me, it’s not like he’s having to lean the bike over.

Ive only driven heavy ass bikes that give me no confidence unless I can shift its weight around when stopped and I can comfortably put my leg over it. I don’t even wanna imagine that dude pulling the bike out of a parking space in reverse!
Not to say I walky the bike up to 20, no, as son as the speedo gives a reading, feet go up!

Me personally, I’d agree with you...I wouldn’t be comfortable with that posture. Maybe for somebody else it would be fine, but having to actually shift in the saddle to get a foot down is a bridge too far for me.

The car tire is popular with guys who ride a 10-15K a year. It’s called “the dark side.” It’s usually touring bikes and big cruisers who don’t want to shell out $400 a year for a rear tire. (tire+labor). Transitioning from corner to corner can be a little uneasy, but if you’re just commuting or touring, it seems to work OK.
