My brother inlaw’s friend just ordered a GT as above. Black/Red.

I shall get a tour when he gets it.

I like the blue, but I agree that the GT1 is the sweet spot.

I specced mine out as a blue GT1. Seemed perfect but there  are still a lot of other cars I would buy for that money.

Mine was a red GT2 with black leather (no other options) and also AWD. At $52,705, I think I’d hop in a Chevy SS instead.

Really liked the concept car, maybe they’ll offer a coupe in the future!

Seems like you don’t get a ton more with the GT2. Unless you’re going RWD.

I liked that too but I’m a 4 door guy.

And it matches the GT concept quite well.

Oh man, why didn’t they keep those doors?!

It’s broken, I don’t see an option for a clutch pedal.

Yeah, it adds a lot of $$, but nothing that I really want, personally.

Agreed! I look forward to test driving it - - the only one I’ve seen up close was at the auto show, and it was locked, unfortunately. This was last February, before they were out.

It’s interesting but I’m not sure the Stinger is ever something I’ll lust after

Probably don’t want people to die? LOL

Tends to cause a negative opinion of your brand.

Fair, You seem more like a Genesis guy than a Kia Stinger GT guy

I’m not sure how those doors would kill people? Rolls Royce has a back-hinged door on the Wraith and their reputation is fine. Other companies have pulled it off as well.

I guess if it came down to picking I would take the Genesis because it has the 5.0L V8

I will say that.

Not in modern times. Only Rolls does suicide doors (maybe Bentley?). And they have the cash to fortify the living crap out of the doors (and charge someone for it) to be able to do it.

It’s not practical in a normal branded car.

Honestly no one overtly complains about it though. No one in this category of semi luxury/luxury “liftback” has a manual option. BMW, Buick, Audi, Kia, and Genesis - no one has a stick.

They’re not cutting out much of their target market by not putting one in.

I love me some older BMW’s with a 6 speed...but new ones do nothing for me, The fact that car companies have left people like me behind has just forced me to buy older cars and build them up to what they should be.....and for the record Liftbacks are dumb we just need wagons, Wagons with manual transmissions, Decent Power to weight Ratios, and Rear facing seats in the back.

It also made me a Fan of Subarus but now even they are putting a cvt in everything that not a WRX.

I guess the problem is most car buyers live in cities and commute in traffic. I live in the woods and commute on winding mountain roads. Soon there will be no good new car for my commute.

OK that’s a bit more fair. A manual for my daily would be horrendous. My Capri RS is a 4 speed manual and the car is stupid fun to drive....but I don’t want to take it on my commute. I spent 20 minutes going a mile and a half last night on the highway. My normal commute can be done in 25-30 minutes, which is great. Last night it was an hour of stop and go due to 3 accidents. It’s just not worth it in a daily for someone like me.
