In Narco corridos perhaps?

I don’t actually listen to banda (Mexican Country basically) but I know that they make a lot of reference to Trucks, god, having safe trips, family and guns.

Mexicans out american-ed americans.

IMO, The Escalade became relevant for Cadillac when the first and second gen starred in every hiphop/rap/r&b music video.

Those were the best selling models too.

It was a huge pop culture icon in the short 5-6 years in the mid 2000s. I don’t think he meant relevant in the automotive world.

But I would say that it was relevant even there, it created a whole new class of cars, the luxury SUV. No, that was the Range Rover and the Wagoneer.
Or the early 90s pickup trucks trim levels. This whole comment is pointless but I’ve written too much to just scrap it at this point. Sorry for making you read this. I should stop writing.
Look it’s the Duck of Wall street.

I think the relevancy of the Escalade is aligned exactly with the housing boom of the oughts. It’s the mcmansion of cars.

I can’t remember the last time a new model made the old model as irrelevant as the current Escalade did with the one in the video. The second it came out, suddenly every last-gen Escalade looked cheap and tacky (even more so than they already did).
