I just bought a car, from start to finish the process took all of fifteen minutes.

No, I didn’t sell the Mustang. I’ve decided to add a minivan to fleet because my mobile detailing business has somewhat outgrown my ‘Stang and I enjoyed Ubering when I had a 4-door vehicle.

So, I just bought a 2015 Nissan Quest S. On Carvana; they offered a $1000 off any vehicle for Black Friday weekend.

Kinja'd!!!

If all goes well, their underwriters will approve the deal tomorrow and I’ll be flying to Atlanta on Friday to pick it up (the flight is on them) and drive it home.

I didn’t have to deal with any crappy salesperson or sneaky tactics, I just put in my information, e-signed some documents and in the time it would take for a dealer to make a copy of my driver’s license I had virtually bought the vehicle.

Welcome to the future!

We actually have a giant six-story glass and steel Carvana vending machine in San Antonio. They advertise it as the quickest way to buy a car. I don’t know anyone who has been through it but it must be doing well because every time I drive by I see different cars in it and I see plenty of their license plate frames around.

I’ll be picking my Quest up from the vending machine on Friday!

I don’t think I will ever be comfortable buying a car sight unseen, from a vending machine, with 0 human interaction and 0 personal accountability.

You can brow beat a salesman, play hard ball with a manager, and make a stink in the showroom until all your issues are resolved post-purchase. People do that to me every day, 10 times a day, 7 days a week.

Carvana gives you what? A 1-800 number for customer service? Pass.

I’m okay with not having to receive and deal verbal abuse. Personally, I feel that I’d rather pay a little more to not have to deal with idiotic salespeople, and in this case I couldn’t find any other Quest as good of a deal as this one with the $1k off promotion.

That’s good going.

For mine it was all of 30 minutes from looking at the brochure, sitting down with the saleswoman, picking what was needed, haggling the price (got around 20% off total list price), signing the forms, paying a deposit and out the door. Then it was the two and a half month wait for it to be built and delivered.

So when do the rims, bags, and JDM front end arrive?

Even without the JDM front end the Quest is still the best looking minivan in the US, 2018 Odyssey excluded.

I couldn’t ever buy a used car that way, but it would be awesome for buying brand-new ones.

Nice.... although I still think my mom’s 2013 Odyssey EX-L is still better lmao

I spent a decent amount of seat time in all of the minivans available and liked the Odyssey but found the whole dash to be very busy. The Quest is more comfortable and costs thousands less.

They’ll be here within the week. ;)

I didn’t appreciate how handsome the Quest is compared to other minivans until I saw a row of various brands at Carmax.

I have a Quest (well my wife) the only issues we’ve had in 20k miles is the is the light socket for the front turn signal (which I still havnt fixed) The wiring plugs into a socket which holds the bulb. they want me to rewire the whole thing for $60 hen a new socket is $20 but no longer available. It has good power form the 6 cyl, and the CVT is there. I like it batter than traditional autos, and it doesn;t seem to slip as some people say it does when trying to haul such a fat load.

I thought the same thing, but trust me. You’ll get used to it. And after being stuck in it for almost 3 days straight (road trip), it’s like second nature. That, and it can really haul ass. Took us to 123 mph with ease and had great gas mileage. Overall it’s the best in my opinion but all opinions are different. Enjoy your ride!

They give a 7 day (after the vehicle is delivered), no questions asked return guarantee. Just call them, say I don’t want it, and they’ll come pick it up and give you a 100% full refund.

Now, you can probably only do this a couple of times before they say you can’t return your next purchase. I would still prefer to test drive a car, before wiring money for it, and having it tied up for 10 days should I not like the condition of the vehicle. My biggest problem with Carvana is they only have 4 to 5 pictures max of each vehicle. VROOM operates the same way, but has a lot of quality photos of each vehicle. They both say they have stringent reconditioning, and only buy the highest quality used cars. Carmax says the same, but their cars tell a different story up close.
