But be careful, German sedans will find a way to draw blood. Widowmaker jack or not. Mine fell on my head a few years back and I even used a real jack and a stand. Buuuuuut it turns out there was too much rust and not enough steel...
Actually it was literally 4 years ago that it happened.

Temporarily put the spare under a car near the jack as I raised it up to remove a flat once. Friend asked why I went through the effort and it hit me that most people don’t think to have a fail safe incase the shitty jack fails!
Even Subaru failed in this commercial they had running a lil while back.

Yes. Bricks and cinderblocks-any masonry or concrete-can split apart. A man died here a while back using cinderblocks. Wood is better, but JACKSTANDS ARE CHEAP. And you already have the tire: throw it under there. Always.
We love our cars, but they are always trying to kill or maim us cause gravity is an evil b¡+€#
PLEASE use jackstands: it’s really nice to buy shoes in pairs—or even >need< shoes.

F those shitty VW jacks... get a real jack and also just throw the spare or another wheel under it for when any jack fails it will try to kill you. Floor jack and jack stands are like $100
