GM must love sealed beam headlights.

We’ve got a fleet of minibuses based on the previous 4500, and I’d prefer that our next fleet replacement be based on a newer 4500 than the Freightliners we’ve been buying and the possible ProMaster-based vehicle we’ve been evaluating (that seems to be a garage queen to the surprise of absolutely nobody...)

Good! Getting out of the medium duty trucks was a stupid idea. I see they’re going back to using truck cabs, instead of short van bodies for cabs.

Do not buy a promaster based anything! We have a fleet if them they are maintenance nightmares. I literally replaced 2 headlights a month and that’s with brand new headlight assembles to try to stop the problem (Google it I’m not alone). It has left me stranded 4 times in 150k miles and has spent months (not exaggerating) in the repair shop. I’m not the only one. Everyone is having the same issues in my company. I will say with the full complement of Adrian Steel in the back they are a lovely thing to work out of and they do drive pretty nicely but other than that they stink.

I’m with you 100%, and if I had any say in the matter (which, unfortunately, I don’t) we would terminate this trial and get this thing out of here. It’s the horror stories from you and others in this group, along with numerous other tales found on various parts of the ‘net, that have led me to this conclusion.

I don’t know what the drivers think of it, but I’ve heard that the customers love it. Hopefully management won’t be swayed too much by this and keep their eyes the long-term implications of having a fleet of unreliable maintenance hogs and what that means to a department that is already a money-losing proposition.
