How are you tieing in the tops of the posts to the header?

There is a 3/4" peice of plywood between the beam and the post and then metal L brackets with screws thru the plywood into the beam

Nope. Next I’m framing out the chase to the flex duct can be put into place. Then I’m going to work on an island which will be between the posts in the middle

Is that load bearing? In California, that might be a lightweight connection because seismicity. Are you going to case them?

Yep it’s load bearing. We don’t have the seismic requirements Yu guys have. They will get encased I just haven’t figured out how I want to do it yet.
