Kinja'd!!!

I’m impressed with the number of cars my brother was able to fit in his driveway on Thanksgiving Day. All in all, it was a success. Politics were avoided. No one drank too much. And for the first time, I actually brought my partner, and everyone was nice to him. No more having to uncomfortably dodge the inevitable “When are you going to meet a nice girl?” questions. God, I hated those.

Oh, I guess there was one minor incident. The pumpkin pie my brother bought turned out to actually be sweet potato. Pumpkin > sweet potato.

It is good, but when compared to pumpkin, sweet potato is the lesser pie. Don’t argue. It’s science.

I hate to tell you this, but you’re still gonna get the “When are you going to give us grandkids” crap. :)

I don’t anymore, thankfully, because all three of my step-siblings had a slew of kids. I really should send them thank you cards.

I could honestly go either way on having kids, but my partner is definitely in the “no” camp, which effectively settles the question for both of us. My brother is marrying his girlfriend in April, and then hopefully they’ll pump out a slew of babies so my parents can get their fix.

Fresh pumpkin pie is perhaps on par with SP. Canned pumpkin pie though? Fuhgeddaboutit.

We are the ones to conduct Thanksgiving because our shit is in order and the food is from scratch. We do it on Friday so there are no scheduling conflicts. Politics aren’t discussed. And if they are you’ll get your republican feelings hurt at my house. It is what it is. ¯\_()_/¯

I’m the gay one and if anyone considers discussing the legitimacy of my marriage or anything approaching the topic I’ll flip the goddamn table and start beating asses with a turkey leg... try me. And put those mashed potatoes down on your way out, you don’t deserve them.

See you next year!

Mom threw stuffing at Aunt Janet and called her a whore.

we need to send Trav’s sister those thank you cards too. she and her husband have 3 small ones, the youngest two are pretty rowdy, and they live less than a mile from his parents... so they’re just relieved we only bring a mellow dog.

I got really baked and sat in front of the Lions/Vikings game for an inordinate amount of time. I don’t even care about football. My wife’s aunt asked if I was OK and I told her I had been out behind the workshop with her brothers.

Then I ate too much and let the buzz wear off before we went home.

I’m in the same boat. I think I’d like being a dad, but he’s very much in the DO NOT WANT camp. That’s ok, I can be the fun uncle.

As a bonus, they all live much closer to my parents so they get to see them a lot.

Agreed on the sweet potato. It has its place... Like the trashcan.

Also, I see an HS250h in the driveway!

Yes, that’s my parents’ HS250h.
