agree - we had an ‘01 Civic for a while (purchased new), first of the new body style, strut front suspension and 1.7 motor. Lots of issues - steering, suspension, brakes, weird rattles, interior bits coming off... got rid of it after just 60,000 mi.

I bought a first year Subaru Impreza, it was a love hate relationship. The car always had some sort of issue.

Ha our 03 civic had problems too. Traded it at 80k for a MINI in 2008 that actually had fewer problems.
