So ridiculous, it just might work...

Why don’t we have rear cab, front bed, mid engined diesel sports mini trucks?!

Kinja'd!!!

Tail gate goes where the grill is.

Engine goes in the middle, hence the giant retro air intakes.

Hips of the truck house the doors and the truck seats 1 person in the center.

Most people don’t carry stuff in their trucks regularly anyway. Jus don’t fill the bed up all the way, and you’re golden!

Tell me why this is a bad idea!

Would suck to move a fridge or a LA z boy

Its supposed to be ridiculous.

But if you want to move stuff, move it horizontally!

(The backs from La-Z-Boys come apart for moving.)

Update: Made the cab higher. Problem solved!

Better idea: put the cab on scissor lifts. Every time I see one, the guy driving it looks like he’s having a blast

I’d take my pickup with an island cab instead. That way I can see over the ‘bonnet’. Go to school on this...

To be honest, the goal I had was to drive the truck that’s loaded in a particular way and let the rear hang out. Because I’m on the far back end of the truck, I’d be able to experience quite a swing when that happens. And that sounds like fun lol

Put them together... Box in the front and the back! Plus don’t forget the mega/crew cab edition with tiny boxes front and rear.

Crew cab? Lmao! It’s the most useless configuration ever!

The front bed should be an usable idea. It even has been used in some applications.

Bad idea because your load height is limited by the need for forward visibility. With the bed behind the cab, tall loads block rearward visibility, which is not essential.

Kinja'd!!!

well, it COULD work, but you just havent gone and gotten silly enough yet......

you might get a drop axle front end, and slam the bed down as far as you can, but CHEAT, and use a short cut down bed, like off of an old model T. and as long as you were to try and keep it light weight, you could cheat some more, and make the whole thing rear engined, with something like an old volkswagen bus engine and transaxle, so that it would be more of a cab-over set up than a mid engine set up. those vw engines can get kits to turn them into 2300cc+ engines.....

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

the main downside to most of this, is that you lose a lot of weight off of the wheels that do your turning, which would make driving it around corners at any speed real exciting..... understeer city......

You could experience almost the same thing in a conventional truck with the steering rack on the rear wheels only...!!

Now you’re thinking!

I don’t want it to be suuuper understeery, hence I drew it as mid engined with a looong and heavy truck bed. I want it to oversteer and throw the tail around with me in it like a pendulum lol

Huh....I never thought of that!

the nice thing about having the bed up front, is that you could preload the front with as much balast as it took to get it hook around corners......those old gym weights? great, three spare tires, cool.....
