I was just about to throw a brick through this car’s window while screaming something about Pearl Harbor, when all of a sudden a sticker changed my mind. You got lucky, Camry.

This car has no other stickers or dealer adornments. I can assume the owner just wanted to be on the safe side with his Murica cred...

Also, no Camry dents. Not one. Car must be less than a week old.

This car is from an alternate universe...all Camry’s come from the factory with Toyota’s patented CamryDent™Anti-theft Technology

Meanwhile both of my cars were (pretty sure) 100% Japanese assembled. Reminds me of this guy that drives around where I live with a HUGE American flag waving proudly from the back of his...series II Discovery.

I like driving around on Murica day with a flag waving from my Crossfire. Haven’t thought about doing it from the Miata yet ... until now.

guessing this is a comeback to Trumps “japan should try building cars in the USA” statement.

Why is that even a thing*, it’s sad that it is even a thing.

Somewhat surprised it’s on a plain white sticker and not a waving flag sticker.

*probably something to do with the orange haired idiot and companies not wanting to irk the trumptonians.

It’s actually been around a long time, but in a shorter form, usually on the price sticker. This just seemed unusually obnoxious.

IIRC, the EU and UK do something similar for VAT purposes, right?

We have made in U.K., made in E.U., etc... but they don’t really stand out or in a prominent place really.

We have food labelling which says where it’s from on the front of packaging.

Fruit and veg have where it’s from

Meat and ready means have labels with a code to say where it was made or slaughtered for tracking accountability. If a food product, say mince meat, for found to be tainted with something, it can quickly be tracked back to a specific farm or slaughter house and that section of the chain can be isolated and investigated without shutting the whole supply chain down from other sources.

Food labelling is very strict this side of the pond and has to say where it’s made, what’s inside, etc...
