My brand new 2018 Foz XT. I know it’s not a wagon per se but it’s the best I can do from Subaru. So far it has been a very fun ride.

Nice! I tried to get my wife into one of those, but she decided it was too small :(.

Congrats, such a nice car!

It is a wagon, it just needs lowering springs

Nice! The Forester is the only Subaru model of the last 20 years my family hasn’t owned yet.

Drove that one - it was very noisy on the highway.

Nice! 2.0XT Premium? ‘04 STI wheels?

This is the route I’d probably go if I needed to replace my ‘09. I’ve driven the 2.5i pre-facelift version of the SJ quite a bit, and it is nice, though softer than my ‘09 SH.

Quartz Blue is quite pretty, I have to say, though I’d have to go with either Satin or Crystal white.

Kinja'd!!!

I’m sad they changed the wheels for the facelift; the ‘14-’16 looked really sharp with those wheels.

Yup, it’s a premium. I also liked the wheels for the earlier XT’s better though my ‘18's stock wheels are fine. The 04 STI wheels are from the WRX. They now wear a set of snows. I’ve come full circle with the color. This was the color of my 1st Subie wagon.

Congrats! Are these CVT-only?

Thank you.

Unfortunately yes, CVT. It’s a better CVT than in my wifes’ Crosstrek. The motor boating is at a minimum. It has build in “shift” points to mimic an auto. This brings a 28 year record of driving manual only cars to an end. For the foreseeable future anyway.

Very interesting, thanks for the insight and best of luck with it! How does it feel speed-wise compared to your previous WRX? I’m sure the interior and ride quality is a vast improvement.

It’s not super fast or quite as on the ball as a downshift in the Rex would be. It can certainly get out of it’s own way though. I haven’t been on hit too hard and keep it in intelligent (slow) mode 98% of the time. I want the break in to go smooth.

Congrats!! We’ve got a 17' 6-speed (2.5 obvi) same color too.

welcome to the SubaWOOOO club!

Still getting used to mine but it sure is a fun thing to drive. Plus I think these cars are generally pretty well made.

On a turbo Subaru, I don’t blame you for keeping it tidy during break-in :)

It’s quite roomy compared to the other Subaru’s in my stable and especially coming from an Rex wagon.

i’ve been a member of the forced induction Subie club since 2007.

Unfortunately the only thing my ‘07 forces is coolant from the cooling system.

I like Foresters but completely disagree with people referring to them and hatchback Imprezas as wagons.

Oh I agree - but she’s just of the usual white girl opinion that she needs a massive car.

Congratulations! Glad Subaru still makes a turbo car with practical space inside, even if it is CVT only. The friendliest guy at the local autoparts store recently got one the same color and seems to like it a lot.

Sorry to hear about your 2007 wrx... I just went stage 2 on my 2005 Outback XT, hoping I can squeak a couple years out of it before something similar happens (it already had the head gaskets replaced 2 years ago right before I bought it and everything seems good so far)

It was on the original head gaskets and I thought I dodged the bullet. i was wrong.

You need a giant catch can on the bottom of the car with a pump that circulates it back around and into the system again.
