The US configurator is finally up and Kia just surprised us all by adding the mechanical limited-slip differenetial on to the RWD Stinger GT starting at $38,350. That means the Stinger you want is now $10,000 cheaper and in the price range with the lowest depreciation rate! Sh’yeaaahh!!
*Edit: Well that’s just confusing. It says M-LSD standard on the configurator for the GT but it says it’s “optional” for the base GT under the trim comparison while apparently it’s unavailable on the GT1 trim above it. This junk is borked, should call it the Kia Stinker...I need a Rep!
It also looks as if the base GT is running fixed dampers which is honestly even better. Plus, Kia’s Drive Wise (I believe they have a lawsuit with Allstate or someone right now over that name) suite of safety tech is only $2,000 to add on to the base cars! AWD is $2,200 across the board.
Just like Mazda, Kia reads posts and responds!
The base 2.0t car is very well equipped at $31,900 too! That said, I do want to point out that quad exhaust tips are a standard feature so there is nothing behind the passenger side tips on the 4-cyl. Still an awesome buy at since you’re basically adding RWD and a hatch for $2,000 on to the $29,950 Optima SX.
Kia just made the base cars the best cars, kin!

Yeah, but you guys get your Stinger with heated rear seats, 360° cameras, and wireless charging for less than the US spec (which doesnt offer those features last I checked) even BEFORE exchange rates. The AWD system still sends 80% of power to the rear in sport mode so it rotates fine.

There probably won’t be an M-LSD with the AWD coming ever but there is an E-LSD on the way that would likely work with the system. I’d be happy with the same spec and feel the same way but nnnoooo, US is going to put things off like always.
I want this paint though! So I’ll just keep waiting...

If you click compare trims then it shows the LSD to be optional on GT, not available on GT1, and standard on GT2.

The GT in Oz for me is AU$65,000 all in. There’s no options because it has everything including LSD, Brembo brakes and 15 speaker sound system. We don’t get an AWD versions nor is it an option - RWD only.
It appears equivalent to the US GT2 which comes out at US$50,100 (AU$65,800) so pricing is pretty similar...

We get it in 2.0 (255hp) and 3.3 (370hp) T-GDi and 2.2 (200hp) CRDi.
Auto only.

The Stinger configurator is a little wonky right now. Red leather is available on other models. One of the first Stingers we are getting at our dealership in 2 weeks is red on red.

The demo models that have been in showrooms as far as I’ve seen have been red on red. I like the Stinger’s red interior better than Kia’s other red - their Merlot in the Sorento is a bit dark for my tastes.
