Kinja'd!!!

Found this old game whilst doing a bit of cleaning. I played a little last night and tried to continue this evening. Unfortunately, 10 minutes of the on-screen motion had me ready to heave.

I’ve had some problems with FPS games in the past, especially when the room is darkened, but it seems to be a bit more frequent these days. Anyone remember Descent ? That one, especially when combined with a six-pack, would have my head spinning. I guess that if I want to play these things I’ll just have to do it on an empty stomach...

I had a college friend who slurred his speech after a couple hours of Tribes or Counterstrike. The doc said it wasn’t uncommon due to blood flow patterns in the brain. sure would scare me, though.

i can’t do FPS (especially on PC) because the movement is just inhuman. It’s too jerky and quick. Not natural at all. Just watching Ark makes me sick.

I can’t play a few games because they just make me sick (Half-Life 2 on PC and Bioshock, for example). See if you can mess with with the FOV slider and see if that makes things better?

i cant play old shooters without nausea and a major headache (or beautiful katamari for that matter)

something about how the world moves in older games just breaks my little brain

Fun game for its age! Very challenging .

For a ten year old game I’m surprised at how well it works on modern systems. The first time I installed it a while back there were issues with the Nvidia drivers and Windows 10 that required a lot of manual tweaking, but now it installs and works fine with no fussing and I can run it at 1920x1200 without complaint.

In very happy with win10 and game compatibility overall. I thought I would have to keep an XP system around for that. Nope.

The main issues have been older games’ copy protection component fails to install. This caused the game to crash on startup. Usually getting a nocd patch/cracked exe gets around that. Check gamecopyworld.com.

Oh, it’s time to step up, my friend. We can fix this. First, is your monitor locked at 60 Hz? Usually, not always, but usually, the “motion sickness” from playing games isn’t about the motion at all. It’s the way the game is refreshing. So go out and buy a fancy 144 Hz adaptive sync monitor, and everything will be fine.

Also, I loved Descent!
