Kinja'd!!!

My brain screams CP but my heart is whispering NP.

Built the way I’d take one, obviously can uncheck a few boxes and drop the price, a bit. But why? Base GS is basically 40k whats an extra 4505?

The Kia Stinger GT2 is $50,100 for rwd or $52,300 for awd, so...

I gotta think you’ll pay less than that - I built mine for $42,660 because I like the red (free!), and I don’t need a Driver Confidence package, I’m confident enough already TBH.

Gotta think I could get that in the high 30's, where it starts to look pretty reasonable, I think—

CP - You can get a luxurious and sporty 300 instead for less.

The Volvo has the disadvantage of being designed almost 10 years ago now. It hit the market in for the 2010 model year. So it’s an 8 year old car. Sure there’s been a facelift but still.

Yeah but the way I’d take it pushes over 50k....

I’m not really sure that’s the sort of cross shopping I’d do with the Regal GS. Plus I dunno of I’d own a 300.

You are not wrong, but having the ‘Bu now a month with the drivers confidence package I can say it’s pretty nice. Also really what’s 1600 bucks when talking about a car that costs 40k any ways?

Yeah! Exactly. But I worry GM did very GM things to keep it at 40k....

I was being half snarky, but in reality, I’m worried about how quickly those things are to intervene. I like the idea of the package, but if it’s going to cut in early, it’s going to annoy the living daylights out of me.

I would want to spend a fair amount of time testing it out to be sure I’m OK with what it’s doing - and don’t really have the patience to do that.

It’s not intrusive at all. The first time the lane assist bumped me back into a lane I was like WTF. Now I like to play with it. Haha if you drift from the sensed lane with out a turn signal on the gently bumps your steering wheel back the other way to keep you in the lane. The rest are basically just sensors and warning you can adjust the range on. It’s really nice. Plus you know, parks it’s self. Haha which is really cool.

Oh and as some one who uses cruise control a lot the adoptive cruise is the tits.

If the V6 AWD version of the Holden Dunnydore comes out at that price point in AU$ (which is $58,750) then this is CP with a heroin chaser. Mind you, that Driver Confidence Package will be a standard fitment here right across the range because it’ll need those things to get a 5 star ANCAP safety rating.

The 4cyl version is going to have to be MUCH cheaper to start of with...like around AU$40,000 driveaway. Which would punch out the value proposition of the V6 versions if they were mid 50's in pricing.

By way of example, the Stinger S V6 here is AU49,000 plus on roads while the Si is $56K and the GT is $60K. And it comes with a 7 year warranty.

If GM don’t get this right down here then the chances of them Holden it together in Oz will be almost zilch. But then maybe that’s the idea?

The base GS has everything I want on it. I say NP ... not that it matters on my budget.

GM did several things compared to the overseas versions to keep the price down.

No paddle shifters

Rear brake calipers are not painted red to match the front

19" wheels with all seasons vs 20" summer performance tires

GSi/VXR is lowered 10mm

Smaller rear spoiler
