So.. Back in the desert..

Did a huge loop yesterday with a couple of guys I met here... Ended up going up into a canyon none of us had been before..

Ever had one of those days that ends HOURS after you’d thought it would? That involved hauling motorbikes up over giant ledges hours after dark? (Only to drop down the other side, cross another creek and be confronted with *another* ledge system that you’ve got to lift/push/haul the bikes over...) Where one guy is both mentally and physically bonked and is close to curling up in the sand and crying?

Too. Much. Fun!

We started on cane creek.. Headed out towards lockhart basin but then decided to follow cane creek canyon you where it exits onto the highway by hole-in- the-rock... So ended up going UP hamburger hill as well as the climbs above it...

It was fucking heinous.

Yeah, we thought about seeing what was up there before my brake problems but I’d heard its tube frame territory.

It pretty much is.... Hamburger hill is heinous.. and it’s way more eroded/rutted out than all the youtube videos of it.. After that you come across the “waterfall” another tough spot for bikes...

But then even after that, there’s a 3-4 foot wall you’ve got to surmount about a mile from exiting back onto the road... once again.. heinous..

You guys are mental for taking bikes up there! I’d think long and hard before even considering taking the land cruiser up that way.
