Hey, that’s a lot of torque. That’s 8 lb-ft more than a Harley Road King.

I personally think the Ram 700 could find a nice home here in the US as open bed transit connect type vehicle. Its basically the small truck people complain isn’t here anymore. Who cares that its FWD and powered by a neon engine?

Yeah, it could work but I don’t see any appeal past fleet vehicle.

Just get it to pass CARB,EPA, NTSA, IIHS.... should I continue?

BUT, IF, and it’s a big if.... If you could get a newer engine and the hybrid drive system from a Pacifica you could make this a city utilities dream car!

I’m not saying its a solid business case, but I do think it could sell well to fleets here. I don’t think it would be that hard to earn basic safety and emissions credentials.

Hopefully not! I don’t know why brands are so afraid of the American market and so willing to make stereotypes! Many brands would have a nice footing in the US, Skoda for instance would be a great hit!

And trucks have been getting so massive that I can totally see maybe a person that doesn’t want to pay for the size or worry about it or doesn’t want to climb two feet into the cab. The Colorado and Ranger are still relatively large to be honest.

I guess the biggest deterrent to your business case is the truck equivalent of range anxiety and why its normal to see f-150 that have never been off-road (nor never will) having the optional off-road package.

Truck owners already make a concession buying a vehicle that is less practical and more expensive to run in a day to day basis, in exchange they want to be practically able to go everywhere and carry anything.

Business idea: import and legalize all the cars oppo desires in the US.

Maybe, but not sure if enough people would buy them to make it profitable. I mean the mid-sized truck market is only 16% of the pick-up market and recently started to shrink for 2017 while the full-size market continues to grow.

Pick-up truck people who aren’t buying mid-sized probably won’t buy even smaller size either. The people who are not buying pickups at all only because they are too big (including the mid-sized) is probably a small market.

I think fleet buyers are more logical typical consumers, in the end, this truck can haul 700 kg which aint bad at all
