Kinja'd!!!

Google Photos does some neat stuff on its own without any input from me. It created a nice photo album (link below) along with some of these pretty sweet stylized and panorama photos. Enjoy all of my pictures from the trip!

Yess! Miata trip across the country is probably about as close to motorcycling across as you can get while still having some creature comforts!

If I didn’t doubt my miatas ability to make the trip I’d totally do more road trips with it.

Miatas are reliable as hell. Even now with over 200k on it, it runs like a top. It has annoying gremlins but nothing that stops it from running fine through a whole track day or canyon carving. The only reason to not drive it far that often would just be the uncomfortable racing seat and having my STi that does much better on the freeway.

Sounds like it's doing just fine! If you replace enough parts, there's nothing that can go wrong. That has been my way of making the car reliable. There's nothing really left to replace beyond like total engine failure.

I’m not even sure how old the motor is in my car. I know it has the matching trans, which has 250kmiles, but at some point someone put in a junkyard SNC 1.6.

All said though, for $200 I have been astounded by how reliable it has been.

Haha that's wild. Hopefully you've done the SNC fixes at least then. I've heard that it's really dumb to deal with. Definitely should take it on a road trip, it is more fun in a sketchy car.
