Leaving in about 10 minutes to go see it. My experience with the DC movies vs. the Marvel movies is that DC just hasn’t found its groove. It seems like they’ve gone all in on the dark Batman feel and they haven’t been able to find any humor, and it’s the humor that makes the Marvel movies so good. I’ll let you know what I think in a few hours. On a related note, we met Jason Momoa yesterday at Comic Con in Austin and got his autograph. Nice guy.

We enjoyed it. I got a little tired of the soap opera, how everybody has to work through personal demons. Seems like that’s the way all of these movies are going now. We already live in a difficult world with real problems, so it would be nice if our super heroes could just get along. I actually found all the business with Steppenwolf to be somewhat tiring. The entire story with him was no more than a vehicle to get the Justice League together, obviously, but it seemed terribly formulaic. And Steppenwolf’s CG was not the best. Flash was great, some real funny moments from him. Looks like a nice relationship developing between him and Superman. Aquaman seemed a bit of an afterthought. But he’s getting his own movie next year.
The movie that really looked intriguing in previews is Black Panther.
