Tell that to my former local Savers. I swear the stuff I donated (and possibly half of the county) were never put onto the shelves, all the while they were “importing” stuff from elsewhere.

I don’t go to mine often enough to know if the stuff I donated got put out, but I’ve seen some weird stuff there.

I’ve seen weird things too, but the situation that my Savers got shut down was....weird.
The combined factors of rising rent and the admission that they claimed County residents weren’t “donating enough” which forced them to import stuff from other stores was met with some skepticism. The rent part is understandable (landlords can be greedy scumbags), but the importing admission wasn’t taken lightly by the local populace. I heard from many folks they would donate tons of good stuff, yet never would see even ONE item they gave away on the shelf. I saw this too. I’d at least expect one random item from my junks to sit around for a good while on the shelf.
Seeing the same deal with the local Goodwill; nearly empty shelves, yet donation centers stacked full of boxes and trash bags full of clothing. Thats why I save my unwanted stuff and wait for rummage sales.

Interesting. One of the Savers near us closed down as well. I preferred the one they kept open anyways. It’s a little farther, but a LOT nicer and better run. I wonder if it’s just good old fashioned poor management.
