I’ll start: Type-R swap on my ‘13 CR-V AWD. It’s ridiculous, all right. Your move.

I wanna do something similar, stick a type R engine on a CRZ, but keep the electric drivetrain, just update it with a bigger battery/larger motor and hook those to the rear wheels, like some sort of franken-volvo-t8.

I’LL BE THE KING OF ALL KINDS OF POWER INDUCED STEERING

I’m sure that if you’re crazy enough you could do it.

I’d say you could fit that engine inclined and the rear, a la corvair. make a cooling/breathing vent through the roof and get some sort of old Porsche transmission. I’m just speculating.

fit the new type r front suspension setup and then you wont be king of power induced steering, unless you are a mad man and like that kind of thing

The problem getting it in the front is that the stock engine is mounted at an angle because of the hood line, and the K20 is reverse-mounted from the earlier Honda motors, so the exhaust side would be leaning towards the firewall and very close to it. H22s work because the exhaust side of the engine points towards the front of the car.

Engine swap a FIAT 126p to run a Citroen 2CV/Dyane boxer engine!

126s were smaller and slightly lighter cars and, despite a smaller displacement (602cc vs the 126's 652cc), the M28 Citroen 2CV engines made more horsepower (32hp vs the 126's 24hp), but around the same torque (31ft-lbs vs the 126's 32ft-lbs). Plus, rather than doing a bike engine swap as has been done a billion times before, the 2CV engine swap would stick with the original character of still being air-cooled and also has the added fun of keeping with the ‘People’s Car’ theme - nothing wrong with giving the People’s Car of Poland the heart from the People’s Car of France! :P

Why? BECAUSE REASONS.

I think the CRZ is smaller than the current gen civic (maybe the engine doesn’t even fit in the bay!) and it is definitely lower to the ground, I guess I could fit a similar system. What I understood from watching engineering explain’s video was that you needed to get the tyre to rotate on its center line, meaning that you’d need to dig real deep into the rim, and also make it wide enough for the brake calipers to fit neatly fore of the center line and somehow have the steering system and control arms fit within the centerline (or close).

Kinja'd!!!

I made this very basic (probably erroneous) front suspension and steering system, the one to the right rotates the tyre very close to the center line, meaning that if you were to induce power to it, it’d be far harder for torque steer to occur (as the axis of rotation is very close to where you apply force)

when you apply force on a wheel its centered on its, well, center, as its distributed more less evenly.

However when you rotate the tyre (as in steer the car) you can have tyres that rotate near their center and tyres that rotate near to the edge closer to the suspension setup.

However, the system to the left is much further out, meaning the tyre would rotate much closer to its outside, meaning that if you apply a force to the wheel, the torque induced into the axis of rotation is much higher.

The one to the right does have disadvantages as you’d have much less suspension travel and clearance for wheel rotation, I don’t think adjusting camber would be significantly harder, but definitely an entirely different job!

Yeah. In theory, I could put a K-series into my 5th gen Prelude and put the engine that’s in that car now into the 3rd gen. A K20C1 crate motor would be ideal for that, but Honda won’t sell them for street use.

Not an actual B32, but an early Vanagon with an engine swap. Other than the engine it was stock, which meant that the brakes and suspension were a tad overwhelmed by the additional power. I would expect a B32 to have modifications in that area to make it a more balanced vehicle.

My Porsche-powered Vanagon would be a water-cooled Westfalia, a bit different than the air-cooled passenger beast that is the B32.
