I picked up the game on day one (Deluxe Edition, that is), and have played through the story already. So, lately I’ve just been working on some project cars for fun.

Subaru BRZ - Project TrackRabbit: Race spec with Rocket Bunny kit

Nissan 180SX Type X - Project Quicksilver: Race spec with Rocket Bunny kit, crossed out headlights, bright chrome paint

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX: Offroad spec, attempting to make a paint scheme based on a real WRC IX.

‘65 Ford Mustang - Project Fauxnicorn: Pretty much attempting to make a faux Hoonicorn, Drift spec.

Chevrolet Bel Air - Project Gangster: Runner spec, trying to give it a classic mafia look with a modern twist.

That aside, it is a disappointment that there’s no multiplayer free roam in the game, but I have been scouting out some great meet up spots, should they implement it in a future update.

Seems that the small little town of Braxton, out in Mount Providence, seems to be a great place for meetups, with multiple excellent spots for multiple cars to be parked together. From Soledad Church to the Star Awesome Burgers fast food joint, from Bill’s Outdoor Store to the inoperable Ascent Cars dealership, from the Lazy Bear Motor Lodge to the Silver Pine Diner, the Next Gas station and the parking lot behind the Ghost Bank.

Personally, the game is really good, better than many of the big name reviewers say, and hopefully we’ll see some more multiplayer options in the near future.

Feel free to share your in-game pics, if you have any, and share your opinions on the game.

I was thinking of picking it up, I liked NFS 2015. Seems like a nice casual driving game

It’s pretty fun. One of the nicest open world maps I’ve seen in a racing game, period. Plenty of cars to choose from with lots of customization options.

Sure, there’s like...6 or 7 cars missing that will be added in a future update, since the studio wants to make sure they’re as clear of bugs and such as possible, but that’s somewhat of a minor thing, since they’re coming.

There’s also come cars that are available in rather unexpected configurations (Offroad Panamera Turbo and RSX-S, for example), which makes things interesting.

The main issue I have is that if a car starts stock under level 191 (Derelicts excluded), it can’t go past level 300, though there may be plans to remove those limits in a future update as well. There’s a number of more expensive cars that max out at 300 (Mercedes-AMG G63 and ‘69 Charger) that can easily be beat by cheaper cars that can hit 399 (‘15 Mustang and Evo IX, for example).

I’ve got it. I quite like it, though I think the upgrade system is awful.

Agree on the upgrade system, I’d much rather have it the old way, but I will admit that I’ve gotten used to it.

Working to get part tokens to use for spins instead of cash does save money, making it a little easier to buy new cars and upgrade them.

Thankfully, you don’t have to purchase shipments if you don’t want to, some have played through the entire game without opening a single one.

Shipments do certainly help with upgrades, since they supply part tokens, a minimum of 3 (enough for one spin) in each one, plus some additional cash.

Also, they made it easier to make money in the game, since they jacked up the cash prizes for races, bait crates, and other events, which is a positive.

I guess you could say that, even though the system isn’t that great, they give you a lot of ways to make dealing with it easier.

Also, the product placement in the game is quite a lot, but is well balanced by all of the fictional ads as well. There’s even one with SIX Land Rover products on it that aren’t otherwise in the game!

I’m interested in it, but not at $80 new for the standard version at $100 for the deluxe version, which looks like it just gives you five cars at the moment.

My biggest issue with it is how generic it all is. After getting fairly detailed part descriptions (I loved that the camshafts in 2015 had their durations listed), we now get “block”, “gearbox”, etc. with no further information. That, plus there’s the sheer stupidity of a block somehow improving your brakes.

The level cap really annoyed me too but I was still able to beat all the cars towards the end even if I was 100 rating below them. It was really funny to see a Foxbody Mustang pulling away from supercars.

5 cars, exclusive platinum vanity items, 5 shipments (to give you an early bonus of cash, part tokens, and vanity items), and the upcoming story mission pack (which hasn’t had details or a release date announced, so we don’t have a clue what’s in it at all).

The positive of the cars in the pack is that they’re still fully customizable and upgradable, you can even remove or edit the livery they come in.
