How was the... Alpine? Is that what the last one is?

100% 80s. It was my favorite out of all of them. Way smoother then it had any right to be and very fast.

How’s the green Evora compare to the MGB in terms of feedback through the steering/seat/shifter?

I used to drive a ‘65 MG Midget and it completely spoiled modern cars for me. The manual steering and communicative suspension were just sublime. I now drive my ‘91 MR2 and it’s just as good as the MG, but I haven’t been able to find a modern car that’s similarly immersive. It seems that anything after 2006 is squishy and isolated. Wondering if the Lotus has the good “driver’s car” intangibles or if it’s numb too.

The Evora felt like driving Lexus with a bit stiffer suspension and manual.

The Alpine was amazing. The Spyser was almost to mechanical to drive one the street. It need to be driven way harder then I was driving it for it to work properly

The 500 Abarth was my gateway drug into car enthusiasm, when I learned to drive manual on one a couple of years ago.

The silly straight-pipe exhaust (factory) and the light weight. The total mismatch between the sound and the look of the car. There was no going back.

Sergio’s mistake is that he doesn’t Abarth more of the things. We say Hellcat all the things, but really it’s the Abarth philosophy that’s more fun. You hear the deafening burbly exhaust, and then around the corner comes... a little cutesy hatchback. It never got old, at least in the time I was driving one.

The N1 was everything a car that size shouldn’t be. Super comfy, outright quick for a .66 liter engineer, handled bumps well, and could see almost everywhere.

Why is there a French car with an ad for a German car dealer and Tenessee plates?

It’s no t a German dealer, its actually a Voisi n 4x4 2CV. Basically a stock 2CV with 4x4 added by a French engineer. Tennessee plates are again, because it’s another one of the weird cars at the Lane. Have you ever shifted a 2CV?

The Spyder was very difficult but I learned after my driving that it likes and needs to be pushed hard to work properly. I drove it like a grandma. The Alpine was the most wonderfully 80s thing ever. It was also wonderful to take off in. The gear shifts were easy the Turbo made fun Turbo noises.
