I think it should have been an optional body style for the Tahoburban rather than a seperate, differently styled model.

What is “this” referring to? The 1st gen Avalanche was available as a 2500.

That’s essentially what the 2nd version was though.

I just never liked all the body cladding and how the cab was connected to the bed, but not unibody....

I still don’t understand. The whole point of the Avalanche was to be a SUV with an open cargo area with an opening to the cab. Separate the bed and cab and you end up with a Silverado.

The first gen was also available without cladding.

Kinja'd!!!

The 07+ was close. Much better looking than the first design. (I hate the angry eyes and the cladding on the first gen.)

You used the subjunctive mood correctly. Have a star! Also, I agree with what you’re saying.

yeah - wasn’t it basically a suburban with the rear quarter cut off and the bed pass through? A niche vehicle but still cool I thought. Open it up and you’ve got an awesome summer beach cruiser.

I think the 2nd gen was a step back - part of the allure of the Avalanche was its distinctiveness from its brethren. To me the 2G is underwhelming
