Like...is this kid even mine? I thought it would be a treat to take him to school on a Friday..IN A LIGHTNING. My Dad only ever took me in malaise era station wagons. You know what? You can ride the bus until the DNA test comes back kid.
Geez it’s hard to impress kids these days.

Even if he gets it, I can see others kids in the carpool line looking at it as just some old pickup, which he probably knows and is anticipating. Kids suck (not saying yours does, just that kids can be really mean and hateful to each other). They’re not old enough to understand classics yet. Give it time.

Still taking him to school. There’s your problem. A destination like that wipes away whatever cool factor the vehicle they’re riding in has.
‘Hey son, we’re going to Disney in a Lightning!’ When the vehicle takes you somewhere cool, it becomes cool. If it was already cool, it will be legendary.

To be fair, back in the days of high school, I would be so tired in the morning that you could take me to school in a McLaren F1 and I’d probably still be half asleep in the passenger seat. I can relate.

I know I was pretty clueless about cars until I realized I could drive soon.
Though my parents choice of vehicles back then were work trucks and underpowered 80s Panthers.
I didn’t realize how much more I should have appreciated those LTDs and Grand Marquis’s back then.

If y’all are in North Fulton, then he’s gotta build that clout up early! North Face is a stepping stone. I was at Avalon in June and kids that were like 12, 13 were wearing Bape and Supreme. I’d only seen that stuff on YouTube videos haha.

yep - that is my nephew. Great kid, hates everything about his folks. I figure he’ll find his own “Lightning” to get excited about, even if it doesn’t have wheels.
