Russian customs caught again nasty smuggler trying to import a huge number of cheese and butter from Finland to Russia.
The last record for the customs was 99 kg of cheese but this time customs only told that the total amount of cheese and butter was 146 kg in 258 packages. So it could be a new cheese smuggling record, maybe not.
The subwoofer seems to be a good place to hide butter.
This time I don’t spot my favorite version of Oltermanni cheese (which is the newly introduced Tilsit). The one with the brown label is the original version and the one with the green one is the low fat version.

Wow, we joked about doing go-fasts with comté disks with my flatmates, but the fact that cheese smuggling is a real thing is just sad

I “imported” meats and cheeses into India.
We have absolutely zero good cheeses and cured meats that are made in India. I mean that literally. It’s sad.
IfI want any of these things in the country, I’d have to fly to a big city and pay a fortune and fly back with this.
Oh, and a gallon of alcohol, 4 lbs of chocolate, dried mexcian chilies, spices, truffle salt and other stuff.

Luckily there’s quite good cheese markets here so you can find various good European cheese types here. Of course they are somewhat expensive. But comté sure is tasty. I have noticed that in many countries finding import cheese can be hard or even impossible.

Always when I have visited France I have enjoyed quite a lot of cheese there. Thinking about this makes me quite hungry. But I don’t have any energy to go cheese shopping. Maybe in tomorrow.

I stare at images like the top one all day at work. And it doesn’t matter what the product is. If it’s not available in one place and there is a demand, there are people who will get those products to them.

I have no idea how much Finnish black market cheese would cost in Russia but that cheese is sold here 4-7 €/kg so there isn’t going to be very big profits even if the price would double or even triple.
Finnish people who live near Russian border cross the border often to fill their tanks with cheaper fuel. There have been news about people illegally modifying their car that they can bring more fuel across the border...
