This doesn’t mean that it will be sold, but its at least emissions certified.

Hasn’t your current Ford Fiesta already got approval from when it was introduced?

Or is the new engine that the rest of us get in the new Fiesta that may get put in your current Fiesta?

Perhaps it’ll be sold here in Canada, since our market for compacts is larger than that of the U.S., we’re thriftier people overall, and our emission standards are largely the same.

The 2018 U.S. Fiesta will be a carry over of the current/last generation car. And unless something changes it looks like we won’t see the new generation car here unfortunately. I really want one too.

In short yes, this looks like it’s just California re-certifying the current engine for the next model year. Maybe Ford’s wanting to sell the previous-gen FiST as a 2018 in the States while the rest of the world gets the new one? Otherwise they’d have to certify the 3-cylinder since we only got the 1.6L in the Fiesta over here.

The new Fiesta is available in 1.0T Ecoboost (100, 125 and 140ps), 1.1 Ti-VCT (70 and 85 ps) petrols and the 1.5TDCi (85 and 120ps) diesel.

Most models are out now with the exception of a new ST.

My girlfriend is looking at a potential FiST purchase and they specced an ‘18 for us at the dealership last weekend. It’s a direct carryover from ‘17

So this is actually the old model being kept on sale?
