Playing EL_ULY’s game I found this, but didn’t recognize it. Surely Oppo does though, so please enlighten me?

I think it’s a lotus something.

Edit: it’s probably a Lotus Eclat.

Starting at the front quarter, 80s Lotus Esprit easily came to mind but quickly disappeared getting towards the back. Glad to see I’m not completely crazy

It’s a Lotus. An Excel to be exact.

Possibly Eclat instead because of plastic fantastic bodykit (body-coloured front bumper end too).

I believe it’s an Excel and not an Eclat. Either way, awesome sighting!

That bodywork is just how the Excel SE came from the factory - same wheels and everything. Here’s some pics for reference:

It is a pretty awesome find. If I’m not mistaken these actually sold in pretty decent numbers in the UK, though they are the kind of thing you would just see out and about all that often.

They’re fairly uncommon as far as I know. One can only assume Lotus reliability doomed many of these. I’d love to own one. Why wouldn’t I haha

No worries no need to appologize - I understand the comment better now. Anyway, hope the pictures were interesting. What a fascinating oddball of a car.
