Kinja'd!!!

So Mrs. O.C.’s terrier, Binx, is super busy and super, well, terrierish . He looks like he’s been alerting to what we think may be a mouse, but we are very afraid of him getting to a mousetrap and and needing an expensive trip to the vet. So I whipped up a solution.

You can buy similar non-killing traps. Clear boxes with doors that swing one way.

I usually put the traps in closets, in cupboards or under dressers so dog doesn’t investigate.

Skip the peanut butter and use Fritos.

Or maybe glue the Frito on with peanut butter. I remember you baiting your trap in the van with a Frito on the recommendation of the exterminator.

I think the real key is if you know they’ve been eating something to use that thing for bait

I had a rat running around in my van for a few days before I finally killed it. I talked to an exterminator, and he said that rats never hit PB, but they always hit Fritos. I switched to Fritos and killed it the first night. Mice aren’t rats, of course, but it’s worth a try.

Makes sense rats love grain.

Grew up on a farm always had the getting into our storage bins. When it was time to haul the grain the first time you turned the auger on there was always a bunch that got shot out and ummm “dealt with” via shovels

Typing that out I realize I had a weird youth.
