Science people: what do you think was the poison?

Others: be fucking careful what you hunt.

seriously. I did a quick google hunt and no one is saying what they think it might be and I for the life of myself can not think of what could have been involved here. Other than parasites, but that would explain throwing up with in 15 min of having ate. even bacteria doesn’t act that fast. and as for other possible contamination in the meat if the board had wondered into some sort of toxic waste site and some how absorbed enough toxic waste into its self to become toxic one would wonder how the board it’s self wasn’t dead or sick. is it possible this dude was trying to pull some double family murder suicide and spiked that shit with something?

Something doesn’t add up tho that’s for sure.

It’s hard to tell. Eating wild boar is a little risky already just due to the potential diseases that they carry, such as Brucellosis. That often leads to hospitalization and weeks of antibiotics.

This was apparently poison, and they’re waiting on a tox report. My guess is that some landowner left out poisoned meat in an attempt to kill the wild boar that was ruining their property. One common poison used for those purposes is called 1080.

I did see one report that speculates that it may be botulism poisoning as well.

In the US they use blood thinner to kill wild boar. But I don’t think that’s the case here, as that causes heart failure.

Maybe an over the counter pesticide?

Never heard of this happening before. At first I thought maybe they didn’t cook it well enough, but it was poison. So much for eating wild animals instead of farm raised.

I think part of the issue is eating a wild animal that is a well known nuisance animal. I would think eating mice/rats/squirrels would carry the same kind of risk. Their last meal could’ve been dCon delight.
