Kinja'd!!!

In Japan, you can get a brown manual diesel Mazda Atenza wagon with the rear wheels driven (in addition to the front wheels, but still) for about 3.4 million yen out the door, apparently.

That is all.

More specifically, a brown manual TURBO diesel Mazda Atenza wagon.

Not just in Japan. In Europe you can get a brown on the 6 as well. Including on the MT+AWD+Turbo Diesel+wagon combination.

(note that the price is for a loaded version and is already including tax)

That doesn’t surprise me much, though - but Japan is a land of not liking diesel cars or manuals even more than the US is, yet you can get that combination in Japan. (In fact, a diesel is apparently the only way to get either manual or AWD in Japan.)

Looking at the German configurator it seems AWD is only available with a diesel. However, with a manual the AWD version seems to be only mated to the lower powered diesel while with the automatic AWD you’re stuck with the higher powered diesel? Maybe there’s an emissions difference?
You can get the higher powered diesel with a manual btw, but it’ll be FWD then.
