Okay, basically they took an old dog, then made it learn new tricks.

What car would you subject to the Singer treatment?

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

I’m certain what I would send them and have them stick a 500HP Williams engine in!

I have a Range Rover Classic 2 door that would be a Singer style candidate. However, there is no way on this planet or the next one that I would contemplate a 500 hp Williams in it unless it came with a new chassis and undercarriage!!

This is a great answer! The NSX is nearly perfect (like an old 911). But a detailed body “reimage” and some interior work (I think the NSX has a boring interior) and it could be a prime target for “singer-fication”

Once again, the correct answer is Miata

But actually it would be 240-280z not the zx

I think theres already many tuning houses doing nice miatas!

If you want raw power, go and check out flyin’ miata

Yeah. I’d give it an engine upgrade, too. Use the V6 from the new one, minus the hybrid stuff, but add more aggressive cams and alightly bigger turbos so it’s making ~600 HP but can still rev to 8000 like the old motor. At under 3000 pounds, it’ll fly. Only question would be what gearbox to use since the new one doesn’t have a manual.

Oh, surely! Those things look as if they could topple over with a light breeze. Maybe get Johnathan Ward to work on a new undercarriage.

Stick a nice LS there, maybe perhaps a Cummings diesel!

I think its a very young car for it, but I certainly see potential there!

Perhaps also a 300z? Anyone?

My laundry list of feasible dream cars are all ones that i hope to obtain and then give the every nut and bolt treatment.

S30 Z cars, W201 and 124 and R129 Mercedes, GC Impreza, and the RX7 and 8s.

Every one I would like and every one needs just that little bit extra mix and match to make it perfect.

It’s been done. Wouldn’t change much of it, except in the interior. Something like the Singer 911 interior. It would fit the car way better than the Boxster interior.

And I have driven a 911-powered Vanagon. An absolute hoot, something I’d like to experience again, albeit with better brakes and suspension.

There’s actually not much wrong with a well sorted Rover (nee Buick) V8. And you don’t have to fuck about with engine mounts, bell housing adapters and upgrade suspensions for lard arse iron block engines.
