The dent on the E-class confuses me.

Because now, the taillight opening on the LR quarter is about 2 inches shorter than the one on the decklid, but the bottom of it lines up.

I think it’s an illusion, but still...

Not failure to maintain so much as it is not worth fixing, the damage right below the light is unibody. I went through the same with my E39, wasn’t worth spending the money to fix so insurance payout went straight into the “next car” fund.

The E-class wasn’t fixed because that’s totaling damage.

This image of the BRZ reminds me that it would have been so much better as a shooting-brake. During the quick scroll I thought it was, but then I was sadly disappointed.

It’s not worth fixing ... a mighty steed brought down. Oh well.

Sad, I know. But at least in my case with the E39, the insurance payout was more than I believed I could sell the car for in repaired condition, so choice was obvious. I bet it was similar here, these bubble era luxury cars have bottomed out.

Nope, just a straight shot w/ my iPhone. Odd that the light on the trunk isn’t damaged.

Yeah, not suggesting you shopped it, just that it looks odd.

I *think* what happened is that something pushed the quarter and the decklid upwards, and the decklid just raised up, while the quarter deformed by partially crushing the taillight opening. Just odd, is all.

And those are pretty cheap cars these days, probably not worth the $$ to fix that, I presume (especially on a city car).

My photoshop capabilities extend to cropping, some B&W editing, and that’s it.
